Parasite

Exercise 2: Parasite

In this exercise, we worked as a group(group 14) and we were expected to design of a parasitic aggregate structure that volumetrically expands in space through the repetition of modular units of circle folds. The design is supposed to occupy a space or cover a surface which we choose in the faculty building and should accord to the minimum inventory – maximum diversity principle.

This is the element that we used in our design and we used three different dimensions of it:

And this is the place we chose:

This is the process :)

This is the final work that we've done:

Working as a group was different than working individually but we were a good team and we shared the work, nobody was presurred to work and shouldered the whole :)

Phase 2: TRANSFORMATIONS: physical transformations for variation, definition of voids.

This phase of our works was the jury project. Firstly, we were expected to design elements types from two different basal element then make a 3D design with these element types by defining and organizing voids.

I have two main different groups and i have two groups for each type of groups.
These are my two elements coming together for the first group. In my first group, the intersection types between two elements are the same and the group is formed by the combination of these intersections.

And these are the photographs of my groups:

The Second Group:

I tried to combine these four (two-two) groups in such a way that it stands stable and define meaningful voids. But unfortunately the process and the final state aren't the same. And this is the process of my whole design:
